Samuel Gomez is an artist and designer living and working in New York City. He was born in San Domingo, Dominican Republic. He graduated from Altos de Chavon/The School of Design (affiliated with Parsons School of Design) in 1999. with He has been acknowledged as one of the Top 25 Artists as voted for by the public during Artprize 2013. He was invited by the Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM) to participate in its second curated “Artprize Encore Exhibit 2014”. He has been part of several exhibitions around the world in Spain, New York, UK, Berlin, amongst others.
Samuel Gomez has been published in many magazines including “Sketching from the Imagination”, “Hidden Art Treasure”, “Limmie”, “Juxtapox”, Hi-Fructose and “Modern Metropolis”. He work is sought after by major Art Collectors. He is a member of “The Drawing Centre” and “The Americas Society”, New York.
He has worked for over a decade as a Creative Designer & Illustrator for some of the top design agencies in New York and Chicago. His designs have been employed by brands and corporations such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Godiva, Gucci, Unilever, Dove and Estee Lauder.
“Cochleas” was created using ink and graphite on Mahogany and Maple wood body with a Mahogany neck and Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard.
