We are delighted to report that the iconic New York department store, Bergdorf Goodman on Fifth Avenue has launched Purling London Art Ornaments and Games.
Founded at the end of the 19th century by Herman Bergdorf and later owned and managed by members of the Goodman family, this historic store, which has occupied its place on the world-famous Manhattan street since the 1920s, remains the place to go for fashion and design which is a little out of the ordinary.
Purling Founder, Simon Purkis was in New York specially for the launch of our works in Bergdorf’s Decorative Home department on the 7th floor.
Bergdorf’s Purling London range consistents of Art Chess and Art Ornaments. The ornaments are large hand-carved wooden chess knights, painted by artist Olivia Pilling in gold and silver tones to complement modern interior designs. The initial Art Chess are 1 of 1 hand-made sets by surrealist sculptor, Andrew Hancock and cityscape painter, Caio Locke inspired by the galaxy and New York skyscapers respectively.
We look forward to future collaborations with the beautiful and long-standing luxury store.
